Network Engineer Overview: My client who are well established in the retirement financial solutions market are currently seeking a Network Engineer to join their team in Reigate. The Network Specialist will work as part of the Network Team covering 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to the organisation. Role & Responsibilities of the Network Engineer: ·Follow processes within the IT Infrastructure Team for Incident, Change and Problem Management that are aligned to ITIL principles ·Effectively monitor core business systems and Infrastructure, specifically the network infrastructure across the sites. ·Ensure that maintenance and upkeep of the network infrastructure is carried out in a timely and accurate fashion by the team. ·Ensure the effective delivery of changes to infrastructure and platform within agreed timeframes. ·Ensure environment availability and support the infrastructure to enable test and production deployments of application releases, developing and maintaining repeatable processes. ·Liaising with Business Stakeholders, own and manage 3rd party application maintenance based on vendor schedules and by following provided guidance. ·Proactively identify improvements both internally and with 3rd party suppliers to enhance service provision. ·Administer access, domains and connectivity of all applications in internal and external hosted environments. ·Build and manage effective relationships with other teams, agreeing inputs and outputs, terms of engagement and boundaries or responsibility. Understand good practice in service provision and customer service. Essential Skills & Experience: ·Excellent knowledge of multivendor switching/routing technology with proven technical experience ·In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF) ·Excellent knowledge of multivendor firewall technologies (e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), assessment of firewall traffic flow, dynamic routing & log analysis ·Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds & PRTG) ·Excellent knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies and vendors (e.g. Aruba, Cisco Meraki) ·Research and assess new threats and security alerts, and recommends remedial actions ·Knowledge of IBM Data-power technologies ·Good knowledge of Cisco load balancers ·Good knowledge of Cloud networking (e.g. Azure) ·Demonstrable interest and passion for Cyber Security and Network Security ·Familiarity with access control models, network security and technologies Package: ·£55K Circa ·Bonus up to 25% an excellent benefits package Network Engineer This job was originally posted as www.cwjobs.co.uk/job/89960805
