Finance Trainee South East London/Kent Living Wage - Dependant on age Are you looking to start a career in finance? Or anyone who is looking for a career change NO NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED For this role it is not essential to have any experience or qualifications however, some knowledge of administration and finance would be desirable. Summary of Responsibilities and personal duties: Maintain accurate record systems including filing, ensuring that all records are clear and precise, and provide management information as and when required. Assist in ensuring that effective financial systems and procedures are in place and being adhered to. Undertaking ad-hoc investigations and reviews of financial issues as directed to ensure any issue of non-compliance when identified are acted upon. Maintain records on company finance systems of all orders raised and payments made and assist in providing management information reports as requested. Take responsibility for the preparation and processing of invoices for sub-contractors, and suppliers using the company accounts computer system. Ensuring correct authorisation before the release of payments and resolving any queries relating to these by liaising closely with the contract managers, supervisors, suppliers and contractors. Purchasing-To, liaise with goods and service providers to negotiate prices and service requirements and raise purchase orders for goods and services, ensuring that company financial procedures are complied with when raising orders i.e. authorised persons, financial limits, job numbers and to resolve service delivery issues including invoice price queries. Determine stock in relation to rate of issue, storage space available, shelf-life of materials, changing demands and needs of the company. Ensure that stock items are securely stored an accounted for particularly in respect to printing and stationery items. Ensure that plant and equipment purchased and owned by the company is recorded on plant access database. Ensure that company driver provides a plant transfer document for any item of plant issued, returned, stolen or transferred from one site to another to ensure that database reflects true position on plant location. Assist in the calculation of weekly mileage payments and take responsibility for notifying staff of payments made. Assist in preparing the statutory financial and tax returns and ensure compliance with regulations Assist in preparing, updating and monitoring budgets including producing management information as requested.
