Linux Consultant Hamilton ML3 0EU £400 per day LTD Working dates below- 06/03/2020 to 09/03/2020 - 4 Working days 30/03/2020 to 01/04/2020 -3 working days 14/03/2020- 1 Day This job is about supporting Oracle Linux and Oracle VM - activities will include daily checks, server builds and configuration both physical and virtual (system configuration; set up users and groups, configure system logging, the network and storage), resolving incidents and performing requests i.e. access to systems, file system space allocations, Storage administration and configuration, backups and restores - working with the customer SQL and Oracle DBA teams to setup backups and restore files system, troubleshooting performance issues, Setup and configuring monitoring tools using Nagios. Securing the operating system. Updating call information in the customers call logging system Axios Assist, Patching and maintaining systems. Job Description: This position is for local customer support of Oracle Linux, Oracle VM. The primary responsibility is to diagnose, debug and resolve customer reported issues on Oracle Linux and Oracle VM family of products, working in partnership with the customers operations team and developers. Required and desired skills include: - 3 years of relevant industry work experience - Knowledge of Oracle Linux, RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu and/or other Linux platforms - Excellent knowledge of the Linux OS internals, particularly networking - Experience managing and troubleshooting Linux servers in production settings. - Experience diagnosing network configuration issues and network performance. - Knowledge and experience with IPSec, SWAN, DHCP, NAT, IP.
