Qualified Social Worker – Children Services, Area Teams Our client – a West Midlands based Local Authority – is recruiting Qualified Social Workers to join the diverse workforce within Children Services and ensure a high quality, child centred Social Work service is provided to children. Due to our excellent progression scheme we now have fantastic opportunities to join the local authority Area Teams as an experienced Social Worker The authority is looking for social workers who are committed to achieving the best for our children, young people, and families and would particularly welcome applications from those from under represented backgrounds and all walks of life to give our diverse city the greatest level of support it deserves. Our Area Teams: The city is divided into four areas; Central, East, West and South. These Area teams undertake relationship based social work, using a signs of safety approach and works with families under child in need, child protection, including PLO and initial court work as well as children looked who have a return home plan. Furthermore, the Area Teams work closely with Early Help Family Hubs, which ensures families have the right help and the right time. The Area Teams work well together, and with other teams across the city, this enables the work and caseloads to remain manageable. You will bring your ideas and suggestions to drive our challenging journey of improvement and you’ll be joining a great team of people who are passionate about the city, its people and its exciting prospects. You will be handling complex but manageable caseloads. The ideal candidate: You will need to have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and SWE registration with at least 18 months experience in working with looked after children, child protection, court proceedings and completing assessments within timescales.
