Overview
Part-qualified or Newly-qualified Accountant required to join the expanding Hedge Fund accounting team of this award-winning, Glasgow-based corporate. This role would provide a highly interesting and rewarding challenge for candidates looking to make the move into financial services. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career within a large corporate commercial environment, gaining exposure to and knowledge of complex investments for hedge fund clients across the globe. As part of an established team, you will be responsible for end-to-end accounting and reporting processes for your own allocation of clients; providing accounting solutions to Hedge Funds for independent valuation, investor transparency and regulatory compliance. Applicants are not required to have fund accounting experience as full training will be given; however they must demonstrate excellent numerical skills and strong attention to detail. Responsibilities include: Daily Net Asset Value calculations (NAV’s) Performing regular accounting functions, e.g. P&L analysis, daily cash projections, calculations of FX transfers, checking client’s contributions & redemptions Performing securities pricing analysis to daily, weekly and monthly deadlines Performing position and value reconciliations Reviewing and reconciling general ledger exceptions Performing month-end control processes Ensuring income and expenses allocation at month-end Preparation of year-end Financial Statements, sharing the data with auditors Enhancing efficiency through managing processes and implementing changes, as necessary You will be a qualified or part-qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA), or qualified by experience, with strong financial and technical accounting skills gained within a top accounting firm, financial services or large corporate industry environment. Previous experience of fund accounting is desirable, but not essential. You will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new technical concepts and skills and be able to meet regular deadlines.
