Overview
Evolve IT's leading Energy Sector client are at the forefront of using the latest technology and methodology to solve large-scale industry-wide problems with their unique software applications. As a result they have a requirement for a Data Science Manager to join the organisation on a permanent basis to define, create and build their data science functionality and strategy. This sort of role does not come up very often and is an incredible opportunity for a passionate data scientist to really leave their mark. With full responsibility for the company's data science strategy you will have scope to build a team around you. You will be heavily involved with dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the business and will work directly with senior management as you initiate your data strategy. Gleaning information from customers, internal development teams as well as stakeholders in all other areas of the business you will be the driving force for this area of the business. The successful Data Science Manager will have the following areas of technical skill and experience: An MSC or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operational Research or a similarly quantitative field or equivalent commercial experience A proven track record in a Data Science related role. Experience of building or being a part of a new Data Science function Project Management experience 1st class interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate data science techniques to non-technical individuals Experience of building a team and mentoring more junior-level colleagues Experience in both Linux and Microsoft development environments Experience with Machine Learning & Statistical Analysis. A sound working knowledge of a Data Science Programming Language I.e. R, Python, MATLAB, SQL etc. In return our client offers a highly competitive salary of up to £65,000 per annum (doe) as well as an excellent benefits package including pension and bonus.
