Home Care Assistant
Overview
Apex Prime Care provides a range of practical help and support to people who, because of infirmity, illness, incapability or social need, require assistance in their own homes. It is essential that all work undertaken as a care assistant complies with the company's guidelines, policies, and the client's service user plan. Carers need to be aware of any risk assessments that have been done and take necessary precautions. The following list illustrates the types of duties that a Care Assistant may be asked to undertake; To help clients get up in the morning or go to bed. Assisting with washing, bathing, showering, shaving, and oral care. Assisting with toileting; emptying and cleaning commodes, and assisting with incontinence support. To cook meals, prepare snacks, make drinks, and wash up. Laundry, ironing, and changing bed linen. Assisting with weekly shopping. Domestic duties (no heavy lifting). Enter details and notes onto the Pass System. Report any significant changes or concerns regarding client or general safety to the office. Prompting clients to take their medication. Encourage clients to be as independent as possible. This list is not exhaustive; there may be additional tasks as required, you will be advised by your line manager. Essential Skills/Competency:- To demonstrate an ability to attend to clients' personal care. Able to communticate effectively Experience, Achievements, Aptitudes. Able to prioritise in emergencies and use own initiative Interpersonal Skills:- Communicating with office staff and other parties, such as district nurses and other agencies. Respect confidentiality. Personal Specification Essential Job Demands:- Ability to work under pressure with time limitations. To respond to changing circumstances. To carry out lone working. To have an understanding of the physical and emotional needs of clients. Any other duties as required by your Line-Manager. Other Factors:- Flexible working pattern. To provide cover when necessary.
