Job Description
Do you have supervisory experience in a residential care setting and personally driven to make a positive difference to children and young peoples lives? Are you compassionate, caring, resilient with an eagerness to learn? Yes? You could be our next Shift Leader! At New Forest Care we work with challenging young people through long term residential placements in our care homes, where we promote a sense of family and encourage our staff team to promote activities and interests that support our young people to build self-esteem and emotional resilience through attachment. As a Shift Leader you will lead a team of Support Workers, providing day-to-day support, guidance, and be accountable for their performance. This will include completing daily staffing allocations, promoting the ethos and values of New Forest Care, and carry out the duties of a Support Worker to an exemplary standard. You will provide a safe and nurturing environment to support, advise and guide young people to develop social, emotional and physical well-being; to act as a positive adult role model for young people within residential placement within New Forest Care; Professional requirements: * At least two years' experience working in a childcare environment * To hold a relevant Childcare Diploma Level 3 (as specified by Ofsted) * To demonstrate good personal qualities - honesty, trustworthiness, reliability, resilience and good leadership * To maintain own continuous professional development by attending required training * To engage with receiving regular supervision and appraisals Why work for us? * Staff bonus after 2 years' service and subject to company performance * Commitment to high quality support and continued professional development * Readily available overtime * Staff referral bonus * Be part of a supportive staff group with the focus on team work, employee well-being and engagement, including annual team building events * High staff to child ratios and NO agency staff * All meals provided when on shift New Forest Care is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children and Young People, applicants must be willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including employment references and DBS check.
