Overview

Casgo Connections are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses for regular work over a shift pattern in one of our client locations in Bromley. Candidates will be responsible for named nursing duties, report writing and leading a shift in conjunction with a Multidisciplinary Team. Applicant Requirements: · Qualifications: A BSc (Hons) degree in mental health nursing. · Experience: 2 years working as an RMN within in the UK. · Compliance: Up to date DBS and NMC registration. Responsibilities include: · Assessing patients on admission and on a regular basis throughout · Talking with patients to find out their needs and problems, and how to best provide care · Developing care plans with individuals as a structured plan of treatment that involves the nurse, family or carers, and other health professionals · Developing risk assessments to identify risks, such as suicide or aggression, and working with patients in order to reduce them · Building therapeutic relationships with patients and their carers to build trust, empower them and to help them recover · Working with patients through one to one sessions or group activities along with other health professionals · Administering the correct medication as prescribed by the doctors, including injections, and monitoring for side effects · Monitoring physical health and well being, recording physical observations such as blood pressure, pulse and temperature as well as being aware of any physical health needs · De-escalating distressed patients through verbal and non-verbal skills, and finding ways to reduce their distress · Preventing and managing abusive, aggressive and challenging behavior from patients when necessary to protect them and others · Ensuring correct documentation of patient care · Ensuring the legal documentation is in order, especially for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) · Working with relatives, carers and visitors to educate them about mental health conditions · Leading and managing shifts, supervising and supporting Health Care Assistants (HCAs), student nurses and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Job Types: Contract, Part-time, Temporary Salary: £24.00 to £33.00 /hour
