Overview
Full stack back end developer Perl, API, Backend, Perl, CGI, Python, PHP If you are an experienced full stack developer with a desire to work in a small fast paced and exciting technology business then we’d love to hear from you. As part of our continued growth and technology roadmap for our products we have a vacancy in our existing software development team. What you’ll be doing · To be responsible for back end / API development and be responsible leading the design, build and delivery of projects that deliver enhancements and new features into our products . · Primarily back end development but there will sometimes be the need to develop or update front end web apps. · Build relationships across the organisation and work with stakeholders to understand business needs that should be included in our technology roadmap. · Define, document and maintain the standards, procedures, best practices and training material for the major elements of functional change that are developed. · Provide occasional advice and guidance to the front-line support team when issues are raised by customers. · Continually challenge ourselves to identify and make recommendations where there are opportunities to enhance and improve the technical implementation of the current product. · Provide input as required into the technology roadmap and strategy. What you’ll bring · Web Programming: Perl scripting, CGI (Common Gateway Interface), Active Perl are essential along with Perl modules from CPAN.org and custom Perl module development. Python or PHP desirable but not essential. · APIs: API development using SOAP, REST, XML & JSON highly desirable. · Databases: MySQL is essential and experience with other populate commercial and open source databases would be useful. · Front end Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and various web application frameworks such as Node.js or Angular would be useful. · Platform: Linux operating system is essential along with Apache web server knowledge. · Experience working with cloud service providers such as AWS and Azure is desirable as would familiarity with Docker. · Familiarity with GIT version control and JIRA for issue tracking would be beneficial. · Strong work ethic, a great sense of humour, good judgement, technically curious, and team-oriented.
