Quality & Food Safety Senior Technologist

Our client is now seeking a quality and food safety senior technologist to lead the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the quality management system, as well as lead initiatives to ensure the site is up to date and fully compliant wito all quality and food safety standards. Reporting directly to the site R&D Manager, and acting as their back-up when necessary, the successful applicant will act as a key site expert within quality and food safety systems and process. They will work across functions to implement, maintain and improve the site quality management system, providing technical leadership and direction, to enable the identification and prioritization of continuous improvement/gap closure workstreams. This will require building close and effective working relationships with other teams, influencing and engaging them in the value created by these workstreams, and in the essential role that they play in underpinning the manufacture and distribution of safe, high quality products. The job holder also has a pivotal role to play in leading and facilitating internal and external audit programmes and, once again, this will necessitate engaging cross-functional teams in fulfilling their responsibilities, and ensuring that technical support is provided when needed. The capability to develop and work with high performing teams is an essential element of this role, and the job holder must have the competence and gravitas to represent R&D and the site within a range of forums.
