Overview

Associate Director We are searching for an experienced Associate Director Overall job purpose To manage a portfolio of accounting clients to help ensure that clients receive a quality service in all aspects. The role will require a professional with extensive experience. Responsibilities To manage a portfolio of clients reporting to the Partner in charge of this work, being responsible for the efficient delivery of accounting and financial reporting services to the portfolio, with minimal Partner supervision. To develop a leading client contact role, acting as day-to-day point of contact for the client, working alongside the Partner and to practice the principles of excellent client service at all times. To keep up to date with all technical developments in financial reporting including UK GAAP and IFRS. To undertake business development both internally and externally in the market to seek opportunities for new work. To review work completed by more junior staff for adequacy and completeness, and to undertake job appraisal interviews. To assist in student recruitment and staff training activities as required. To develop and maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, and to fulfil the Institute’s CPE requirements. Attend and take a leading role in staff meetings and training as required. Maintain an awareness and observation of Health & Safety issues within the Firm and report any concerns to the Health and Safety Representative. Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the Office Managing Partner. Candidates should ideally be degree educated and be either ACA or ACCA qualified. Previous experience of managing a portfolio of accounting clients within an Accountancy Practice. This should include large / complex clients e.g. those with a consolidated group structure and / or those with a turnover of £25m. Candidates should have practical experience in the application of International Financial Reporting Standards Strong communicator with a proven experience of building strong client relationship in a client-facing role. Proven experience of good client relations. Staff supervisory experience. A team player able to work closely with the Partner and more junior staff.
