Production Engineer

Job Description We are looking for a Production Engineer to join the Hardware Team in Research and Development. The principal responsibility of the role is working closely with our team of design engineers and Production department to introduce new technical products as well as supporting existing products. Primary Responsibilities Support the introduction of new products (NPI) into the manufacturing environment and delivery of manufacturing introduction from design release to production acceptance including producing a bill of materials, build instructions, test instructions, tooling / jigs & fixturing requirements, devising manufacturing routings Support and train production staff on new products First line support on legacy products and drawings Challenge conventions in order to ensure continuous improvements through monitoring and driving improvements in FTPY Identify any new technologies / modern manufacturing initiatives that can be incorporate into existing or new processes Assist with development of material supply & flow to production lines Analysis of new designs to ensure DFM & DFA criteria is applied utilising lean tools such as PFMEA's Have a working knowledge of electro-mechanical / mechanical assembly processes Support on supplier sourcing and management The Production Engineer is a vital role in the company to ensure products can be manufactured repeatably, efficiently and to a high quality and reliability Skills & Experience Appropriate technical qualifications, ideally degree level or equivalent experience with a solid Production or Manufacturing Engineering background You should be an energetic individual who is used to consistently delivering quality work under pressure The role also offers a good scope for personal growth and development Teamwork & working individually is key with excellent communication skills essential You will be expected to drive change and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products and processes A strong track record of New Product Introduction and manufacturing experience is expected A good knowledge of low to medium volume manufacturing will be beneficial Please note: Only candidates with the relevant skills and experience will be contacted regarding this position.
