Overview
Electrical/Electronic Technician Bedford Salary £30-40,000 plus 3.2% shift premium Full time – Permanent – Monday to Friday rotating shifts 0600-1400, 1400-2200 Our client is a well-established and global supplier of reliable high quality electronic components and solutions and have a great reputation as a leading manufacturer based in Bedford. Purpose of Job: To provide and manage processes that support many of the functions which are the responsibility of the Equiptment Engineering/Facilities group. Principal Accountabilities: Optimisation of equipment availability by way of reactive attendance to unscheduled lost time, preventative maintenance, upgrades and projects Involvement in improvement projects and their implementation planning. Operating within a multi-shift, multi-skilled team environment sharing knowledge gained. Recording all actions onto provided systems for ensuring traceability and historical analysis. Calibration of all equipment Education Essential HNC / HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Apprenticeship or similar training Desirable Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering Job Experience/Knowledge Essential Experience of employment in a similar environment or a placement where similar skills are in use. Ability to read electrical circuit diagrams Desirable Experience of actively participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives. Proven experience in a manufacturing environment. Special Aptitudes/Skills Essential Flexible approach to work and multi-tasking as required. Good communication skills and IT literate. Ability to liaise with and sometimes negotiate with external suppliers. Basic PC knowledge e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook Desirable Circuit board component level fault finding Demonstrate good mechanical engineering understanding Other Requirements: Essential Ability to work effectively in a team. Clean driving licence. Willing to work swing shift pattern 6-2 / 2-10 37.5 hours/week Monday to Friday Possible call in rota at weekends Desirable Experience of working shifts.
