THE FIRM A leading provider of legal services to the health, social care and housing sectors. THE ROLE Our client has been a member of NHS Resolution's panel of lawyers since its inception. In addition to clinical negligence work, the division carries out a wide range of other work which includes providing an advisory and advocacy service for clients and acting in many of the leading inquest cases as well as advising clients on: regulatory matters; public law issues; judicial reviews; court of protection; mental health issues; consent and confidentiality; information law; and clinical risk management. You will join our client's highly regarded team of advocates and healthcare advisory specialists. Candidates will be expected to have advocacy experience. Our client's team pride themselves on their professionalism and being well-respected and liked by both clients and colleagues. THE CANDIDATE You will need to be able to fit into a structured corporate environment but in return you can expect to receive excellent supervision. You will therefore need to be a confident solicitor or barrister and experienced advocate with great personal presence in court who is dynamic, self-motivated and able to develop skills to work with senior officers of the firm's clients. The majority of the work will be inquest focused but there will be opportunities to become involved in the advisory work. Your advocacy experience is preferably gained within a leading healthcare practice of solicitors or barristers, although our client will consider experienced advocates without healthcare experience.
