Overview

Responsibilities Contributing to our Infrastructure as Code. You will be coding missing modules in Python and Terraform, and maintain the existing ones. We want you to help us build a culture of continuous improvement of our processes, infrastructure, and practices around the infrastructure and operations. We want you to help us revolutionise our use of infrastructure with focus on testing and programming the infrastructure. You will be working with the engineers to trouble-shoot their deployment problems. You will be assisting the developers to learn the Infrastructure as Code framework, so that they can deploy their systems on their own. You will be working with the developers to identify the missing parts of our IaC You will be maintaining high standards of code and test quality for all the IaC modules. Skills You have a proven track of: Hands-on approach to the implementation of the infrastructure as code (IaC). Implements complex systems like it is second nature. Executes delivery of infrastructure improvements with focus on cost effectiveness and timely delivery. You have the ability to direct change through design and structure. Understands the needs of the development teams in terms of infrastructure and process point of view Familiar with all areas of the infrastructure Monitors the security aspect of infrastructure such as external and internal interfaces, networking issues, and common vector of attacks Works with SREs and developers via pair programming sessions. Independent troubleshooter you are relentless in your search for solutions. You can demonstrate the ability to: Interprets architectural decisions taken during the design of software systems and how they impact the shape of the infrastructure Reliably executes infrastructure changes needed to support the Continuous Delivery development process Cooperates with infrastructure engineers and software developers who are members of cross-functional delivery teams and are spread across multiple time zones Understands and implements logging and monitoring frameworks Understands code and development practices such as Test Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development, and code reviews in Github and Gitlab Be able to do what you talk about - lead by example, outcomes oriented. Knowledge You have knowledge of Site reliability engineering principles Expertise in Infrastructure as Code and technologies that support it Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker Experience working with Jinja2 and Gitlab CI Google Cloud Platform Programming in Python - you know how to read code, you can understand it and you can make changes Comfortable in Bash Knowledge of networking and cloud-based delivery models It would be nice if you knew ERD, BPMN, and sequence diagrams- so that we can share architectural and process designs Modern testing techniques and frameworks for mainstream programming languages: Python, node.js, Go Forseti AWS This job ad was posted by Salt.
