Futures Recruitment is looking recruit a NPI Engineer with determination and high standards to join a market leader in doing work that moves the world forward. Our client designs and manufactures highly engineered products and systems principally for the aerospace and defence markets, they are fascinated by and committed to technological and engineering advancement, providing cutting edge sensor solutions to the world’s leading OEMs within Aerospace, Marine, Energy and wider Industry. You will work in conjunction with the R&D and manufacturing departments based in the UK but you will also need to actively support a manufacturing plant abroad, along with this you will be responsible to monitoring and investigating Quality issues from initial report to preventative action and implementation. Responsibilities for the New Product Integration Engineer: Manage the New Product Introduction (NPI) process of new products from our R&D department into production. Develop the production process for new products, including qualifying the supply chain and packaging methods. Assist with the design of production Jigs and fixtures, packaging, testers, etc. Preparation of specifications for capital equipment and manual processes including inspection/test. Analyse the current production process and introduce lean manufacturing techniques. To modify drawings & 3D models during the Engineering Change Note (ECN) process. Bill of Material creation for products. Work with Quality and Supply chain to improve component and product quality. Involvement in product life testing, both current products and development product. Essential skills for the NPI/Quality Engineer: Engineering Degree or HND/HNC equivalent. Proven track record in an Engineering environment. Solid Works knowledge. Comprehensive understanding of Design & Product life cycle. Good analytical approach to investigating engineering and product quality issues. Desirable skills for the NPI/Quality Engineer: Knowledge of plastics and moulding techniques. Knowledge of sheet metals and fabrication techniques. Knowledge of LED and advantage. Knowledge of stepper motors and advantage Some Quality Experience in an engineering industry. Good work and excel knowledge for report writing and analysis work.
