Technical Sales Assistant (engineering) - Salary c£20,000 - £22,000 DOE Excellent benefits Based - Exeter Our Client are a world class automotive engineering firm who produce parts for the motorsport and defence industries. They are a growing and dynamic business who are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Technical Sales Assistant to join their internal customer service team. You will be required to support internal and external colleagues ensuring full customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Ensure timely transfer of purchase order requirements to internal MRP/ERP system Receive & pro-actively make telephone calls to deliver technical assistance/customer service Sales order processing, from receipt to on time delivery to the customer Support team members on or off-site with project lead information, details and planning Ensure all internal departments are aware of changing customer requirements Account management assistance - Internal and possible external visits Ensuring changing customer expectations are recorded and administered correctly Credit return management, data entry and customer query Ensure compliance to company best practice and professional customer contact Compile and issue customer quotations as required Setting up and maintaining new final assembly and sub-assembly part numbers Exhibiting at shows occasionally - up to five weekends per annum Keep databases up to date with contact details and correspondence Ensure effective system, procedure and internal documentation is maintained effectively Management of the Inspection of BOM (bill of material) and manufactured components Prepare and generate reports using AS400, Microsoft Word and Excel Constantly strive to improve efficiencies within systems to feed through to the bottom line Key Skills and Experience Required: Educated to GCSE maths and English as a minimum Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales support or customer service role within an engineering or manufacturing environment Working knowledge of the AS400 system, ISO9001:2008 Quality System an advantage Professional with excellent communication skills verbal and written Self-starter, able to work well independently and as part of a team Good attention to detail, able to manage large amounts of data accurately Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel etc. This role is subject to standard working hours however some flexibility may be required, for example occasional exhibiting at different motorsport, motorcycle and automotive shows.
