Overview
Trainee Field Engineer Initially based in Leominster, as a Trainee Field Engineer you will learn about our client's products and be involved in all aspects of the production and assembly. As well as building the equipment you will learn skills like soldering, fault finding, wiring up circuit boards, etc. Therefore, you need to be dexterous, practical, logical and have a good eye for detail. Whilst you are training you would also accompany a senior Engineer on site visits; installing and maintaining our client's equipment. This would mean leaving early (typically between 6:30am and 7:30am) and travelling across the country. The Engineers normally spend one night a week away in a hotel, so you need to be comfortable with this. On site as a Trainee Field Engineer it's a case of dealing with customers and working under the normal pressures of getting a job done quickly and professionally. It is essential you have a driving licence. The working hours at the base in Leominster are 9.00 - 5.00 Monday - Friday, but when and if you move on to being more of a Field Engineer that's a bit more challenging. The Engineers on the road are typically doing 50 hours per week, with a large chunk of that driving. The salary offered depends on your skills and aptitude and is somewhere between £17,000 for an inexperienced person up to £25,000 for someone with some of the skills outlined above.
