Reference Number: CAD-RCHEF-READ-YP-1402 Job Title: Relief Chef Location: Reading and surrounding areas (Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire) Pay Rate: £21,500 per annum Hours of work are mainly 7:30 am to 3:30 pm - Working 5 days out of 7 This role is a relief role traveling to cover at different sites- you will need access to your own vehicle and mileage is paid at 25p per mile Atalian Servest are recruiting for a Relief Chef to work across a group of 12 assisted living complex contracts. There is an onsite Bistro with a call order restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea service for onsite customers and visitors across all sites. You will report into the Area Manager supporting with new openings, holiday and sickness across the group. We are looking for a Chef Manager with experience ideally in Assisted living/ Healthcare as a Chef Manager and who has a background in audits, allergens and running a site. catering for around 60 on a daily basis. We are recruiting for a Relief Chef to oversee 12 assisted living sites, Catering for around 80 residents per day you will support the onsite Chef managers and assist to cover sickness, holidays and new openings. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chef wanting to move into an area support role. Responsibilities of role As the Relief Chef you will be required to provide and maintain an efficient service under all areas of your control, following company values, policies and procedures Preparation and service of food and beverages using seasonal, fresh ingredients and working within the financial parameters of the contract Continually promote excellent standards of food preparation and presentation to meet the needs of existing and new customers in order to drive additional sales Implement and maintain statutory and company standards of hygiene, food safety and health & safety Manage a team of kitchen and front of house staff Establish and maintain effective working relationships both with company individuals and client personnel at all levels Work within, manage and develop a team to ensure service excellence at all times (across various outlets) Our ideal candidate will A background as a Chef in a healthcare environment is desirable You will need to have your own transport and a full UK driving licence- mileage to sites will be paid Be a real ‘foodie’ with passion and enthusiasm for fresh food and great service by adopting ‘person centred’ principles Be driven by excellence and attention to detail Be both creative and innovative demonstrating up to date with current trends Be naturally outgoing and energetic with an ability to train and inspire Be financially astute and an ability to work within targets Demonstrate confidence with a ‘Can do’ attitude Have extensive experience within the healthcare sector Knowledge and experience of working within a care home or diet kitchen is an advantage.
