Overview

The Organisation - A well-known brand name in its markets, established over 40 years ago, and with a reputation for quality and innovation. - A network of manufacturing sites across the UK to service its customer base. - The facility is a Health & Safety cultured workplace, where employees work in a clean environment with modern equipment. Training is actively encouraged. The Role - Working in a rotating shift pattern (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm, 1 week rota.) - Checking, repairing, and maintaining valves and machine controls, working to a planned preventative maintenance programme. Repairs and servicing of moulding machinery and tools. - Machine maintenance and servicing checks. - Responsible for cleanliness and tidiness of the manufacturing area. - Stock control of all necessary spares and equipment to ensure they are available and ordered for machine and valve overhaul programme. - Opportunity for progression to a team leadership role. The Individual - It is felt that the role might suit someone currently transitioning from the Forces - preferably the RE or REME, who has some of the required skills but can be trained and developed further. - Alternatively, the appointee may have completed a time served apprenticeship, City and Guilds, or equivalent. - Welding and fabrication experience is really core to this role and the individual would benefit from good hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge. Previous experience in lean manufacturing environments is preferable. - A self-motivated person who is equally happy working both independently, and as part of a team, and who is continually looking for opportunities for improvements in the workplace. - Flexible on shift times and work activities.
