A new opportunity has come up within a small yet successful civil and structural engineering practice - the busy team of engineers and technicians are on the lookout for an Associate Structural Engineer with experience to join their large central London office. About the company My client is on the lookout for a talented engineer to come on board and essentially run the business as their own, becoming a Partner and taking over when the Director retires in a few years. Typical duties include domestic and commercial building inspection, monitoring, project management and party wall surveying. In order to be considered for this role as a Associate Structural Engineer, you will: Have a degree in either civil or structural engineering Be Chartered (essential) Have at least 15 years' experience working on building structures, with at least one-year post-Chartership experience Hold a full UK drivers' licence and car Demonstrate experience in managing a small team, with good written and verbal English communication skills What will be expected of the successful Associate Structural Engineer? You will be working within a team of engineers and technicians in the delivery of projects, ensuring all are delivered to the highest standard, on time and within budget constraints You will be accompanying more junior engineers to site visits, site meetings and client meetings You will be responsible for the analysis and design of building structures using your knowledge of design software You will have a large involvement in internal and external project design meetings As the business develops, you will become an integral part of the team, eventually leading up to becoming a Partner within the business.
