The Role This exciting opportunity has become available due to the growth of the business area, where the team develops, maintains, & supports responsive web applications in line with changing business needs As the Developer, you will create quality, manageable, high performing code, and participate in cross functional workshops, working with the business, design and product to identify proportional technology solutions to address the business need. You will communicate complex technical issues in a simple way and always look for the simplest solution to a business / customer problem The Person Previous experience of developing content management systems (CMS) and platforms Ensure that coding standards are defined and adhered to Create robust best practise development techniques Ensure code is delivered to a high quality, functioning to acceptance criteria across all required devices Ensure that non-functional requirements are considered including performance and accessibility considerations Optimise the performance of the code Assist product owners and project managers in release planning. Contribute to technical estimation Perform code reviews with junior developers Setup and manage personal development environments Work closely with 3rd party suppliers to ensure smooth handover of code and on going maintenance Work closely with the architecture team to ensure adherence to architectural strategy Must have all the relevant technical experience for the role, plus ideally: Umbraco 6/7 (4 will be helpful if we get around to migrating the current co.uk site) ASP MVC WebAPI Responsive design Visual studio / Visual studio Git source control Agile methodologies Visual Studio , .Net C#, HTML code, CSS/SCSS, Javascript, Jira, SQL server Responsive websites, Angular, React Git, Postman, Python, Ruby Agile methodologies Software design patterns Writing unit and integration tests Ability to pick up and learn existing projects quickly Self-sufficient and is equally capable of working alone or in a cross functional team Focussed on performance and knows how to get the best out of their code Nice to have Experien ce working with Jenkins / a CI environment Grunt / Gulp task runner Angular 1.x (useful for extending Umbraco admin tools) Experience working as part of a distributed team Typescript Modern JavaScript frameworks (probably Angular 2) The Rewards As you would expect, this opportunity offers a competitive basic salary and reward package, and you'll also benefit from our commitment to investing in your professional development.
