Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to getting more people cycling, more safely, more often, through high-quality cycle education. We are looking for a well-organised and committed graduate with experience managing processes associated with training, qualifications, grants and/or customer services in the voluntary, public or private sectors. Bikeability was launched in England in 2007 and is currently backed by £12 million per year from the Department for Transport. In February 2020, government announced Bikeability will be offered to every child in England in this parliament, up from 50% currently. As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, the Bikeability Trust advances the education of the public in general (and particularly amongst children) on the subject of cycling. High-quality cycling education enables confident and enjoyable cycling, raises awareness of skilful cycling among all road users, and contributes to better transport, health and wellbeing. The Bikeability Trust manages, monitors and quality assures the delivery of the Bikeability programme for government, promotes the effectiveness of Bikeability, distributes Bikeability award materials, and registers local Bikeability providers and instructors. The post holder will work with a small team on Bikeability grants administration, provider and instructor registration, external quality assurance, award materials orders, and customer service functions that support the delivery the government’s national cycle training programme. The successful applicant will have: A first or higher degree Excellent organisational and customer care skills Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to use Microsoft 365 packages including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Skype Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently An interest in cycling and training It is also desirable that the post holder has experience of one or more of the following awarding organisations quality assurance grants administration education and training.
