Lawyer – Planning

Utilise your planning expertise as a lawyer within a Lexcel accredited law firm located in Bedfordshire. Reporting to the head of service, the successful lawyer will manage a varied caseload, advising public sector clients on all aspects of planning law alongside supervisory duties including performance and development. Primarily based at the firm’s office located near Bedford, this role will require the successful lawyer to travel to other offices to undertake client meetings as required. Responsibilities • Large scale development projects • Planning and highways transactions • Governance advice • Attending courts and tribunals • Appeals and judicial reviews • Planning agreements • Conducting advocacy and negotiations • Assisting with mentoring junior staff members • Active engagement in business development initiatives The Candidate • A solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive from NQ plus • Demonstrates an understanding of the legal framework surrounding local government • Knowledge of civil and criminal procedures will be essential • Previous team leadership or management experience is highly desirable • A confident advocate with exceptional communication skills • Has the ability to manage high volume workloads The Firm Our client is a highly regarded social enterprise law firm specialising in the public sector.
