Overview

We have an excellent Temporary opportunity for a homeless & complex needs Support worker to join a service located in Tower Hamplets The service specialises in recovery & homlessness and complex needs and is operational 24 hours, 7 days a week. This is a long term temporary role. As a a homeless & complex service Support Worker, you will be supporting service users with their recovery by offering a range of interventions and treatments. You will also be working with clinical teams and key stakeholders to improve the quality of life of the service users. Key Duties of the temporary Homelessness & Complex needs Support Worker Supporting service users with their recovery Supporting service users in gaining independence on their discharge from the service Providing emotional and practical support to service users Creating and maintaining recovery focused support plans Acting as a key worker Working collaboratively with families, service users, resettlement teams and key stakeholders Communicating effectively and empathically with service uses who are in severe distress and may be acutely unwell and in crisis Support service users with domestic tasks Complete all appropriate administration relevant for the role To keep updated on current thinking, practice and research within the field of homelesness & mental health, housing support and welfare benefits To meet health and safety requirements Other ad-hoc duties as required Key requirements/duties/ qualifications of the Homelessness & Complex needs Support Worker Approachable with strong interpersonal and communication skills Calm and resilient Flexible with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing and challenging environment High self -esteem and confidence Committed to person centred care Respectful and sensitive approach Previous experience in a similar role Understanding and experience working with homelessness, mental health challenges, dual diagnosis, substance misuse and recovery Understanding of risk management and individual and group therapy is desirable NVQ Level 3 in mental health or equivalent This is a very good opportunity to join a reputable mental health service provider and gain excellent experience and training.
