Job Summary: Perform software development activities as per the assigned project’s requirements. HVDC Experience is advantageous, alternatively some experience in Power Electronics or Control Systems is preferred. A good understanding of the VModel Software Development Lifecycle is essential as is demonstrable knowledge of good Software Development and Testing practices and terms. MATLAB, SIMULINK and C are active languages used in current development projects . Activities to develop: - Develop software from requirements according to supplied customer coding standards - Develop and carry out sufficient testing on software as per the customer process - Carry out and participate in software reviews as per the customer process - Configure, operate and debug lab kit and equipment setups as required to carry out their work Required Skills (Technical Competency): Educated to degree level in computer science Tools. Has to have MATLAB, SIMULINK and C skills Has to have requirements engineering knowledge. Must be able to communicate an idea clearly Desired Skills: Knowledge of HVDC and/or Power Systems Experience of Controls Systems Engineering/Requirements elicitation in similar domains Good communication in English (oral & written) & Interpersonal skills Customer focus - ability to build and develop customer & supplier relationships Organisational agility Problem solving ability Logical thinking Effective time management Results driven outlook This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89870184
