Overview

How would you like to work on a major civil engineering/rail project worth over £500m? If you have a Mechanical Engineering degree and like the sound of this project, please get in contact with me. My client, a tier 1 contractor are looking for a Strong Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a freelance contract for 18-24 months. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on a major rail station upgrade and be willing to join towards the back end of the project where the installation, testing & commissioning is in completion. Location: London Roles and responsibilities: Helping to finalise the installation process across the project Managing the commercial aspects of the design / installation, ensuring all change is recorded / actioned and escalated via the EWN / NCE routes where required. Carrying out constructability reviews in collaboration with the supply chain. Challenging the design to identify areas for value engineering and off site manufacture. Developing the access and maintenance strategies to ensure that the equipment is maintainable in line with the CDM regulations & during engineering hours. Interfacing with other contractors to ensure that the civil structures are compatible with the M&E plant. Managing multiple supply only and installation subcontracts. Reporting on program progress to senior management and the client. Pricing & Programming multi million pound compensation events. Writing & reviewing / authorising method statements & lift plans for works on site. Inspecting site works to ensure they have been installed in accordance with the design & ITP.
