These are exciting times for Mencap as we are constantly expanding Join our person centred, professional teams across Ceredigion, Supported Living in Cardigan and make a positive difference to someone's life. We have a truly fantastic opportunity available for a reliable, enthusiastic and innovative Relief Support Workers to join our dynamic and passionate team of passionate people on an ad hoc basis. You must be willing to partake in mornings, evenings, weekends, weekdays, bank holidays & sleep-ins in order to be considered for this role. Therefore, flexibility is required. We support eleven people across four supported living services, you would be providing various levels of support such as: Socialising Shopping Listening to music, Irish folk & country Cooking Cleaning Arts and crafts Writing stories Going on holidays This role is great for someone wanting to progress their professional career and gain additional qualifications and have fun doing so. Key Responsibilities: Getting the people we support involved in everyday tasks such as shopping, cleaning, activities they enjoy & carrying out personal care when required Acting in a professional and sensitive manner as part of a team Completing care plans and other documents to a satisfactory standard Supporting with going out for social events Assistance with administering medication when required Experience in social care, learning disability or mental health is an advantage but is not a necessity. You must demonstrate a real commitment to Mencap and the people we support. Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements. This role also requires driving duties. You therefore must hold a valid UK Driving licence allowing you to drive legally in the UK along with business insurance.
