Overview

Hours: 37.5 hours a week with the need to be able to work weekends on a rota basis (Monday – Sunday) Contract: Permanent Location: Kids Can Achieve, Harrow, HA3 6QJ Pay: £18,000 per annum Training: Fully funded Level 3 RQF/QCF in Play Work or Early Years Education KCA is a charity with over 15 years of experience supporting children with learning disabilities in Harrow. As an outreach support worker you will help children with learning disabilities to enhance their life opportunities. You will work as part of a team enabling children with learning disabilities and complex needs to enjoy mainstream activities in the community or in the family home or our centre. You will provide care to children and young adults within the age range of 5 to 25 years on 1:1 or group basis to develop their skills and enable them to reach their potential. If you are creative, flexible, supportive, energetic and enthusiastic we want you We are currently looking for Children’s Outreach Support Workers who: •Have excellent communication skills and an ability to develop relationships. •Have a positive non-judgmental approach and ensure opportunity and choice. •Experience of providing activity based support in 1:1 or group based situations for children with disabilities and understand how to positively support children with behaviours that challenge. •Have awareness of Health & Safety. •Understand how to reduce risk and protect children from harm. •Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills All applicants: Must have experience working with children and young adults with a range of needs. We are looking for applicants who have experience with learning/physical disabilities including those with moderate and severe and complex needs and behaviours that challenge. Must have a good understanding of how to work with families. Need to have the ability to work to set deadlines, working in a busy and multi-facet department. also have good organisational and time management skills. We offer free Level 3 RQF/QCF in Play Work or Early Years Education to complete as part of the role providing good feedback after completing your first month of work.
