Job Description 18 hours per week, fixed term until 31/03/2021 x 7 posts 30 hours per week, permanent x 1 post An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Enablement carer in our Keep Independent Through Enablement Team (KITE). Wandsworth KITE provides short-term support to people in their own homes to help them meet set goals and be as independent as possible. It is for people who have been discharged from hospital or whose health and ability has deteriorated. The KITE service is registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are looking to recruit caring and compassionate carers to join our team. Enablement Carers play an important role in assisting and supporting people to build their confidence and become more independent over a short time, typically three to four weeks. You will need to be positive and encouraging and be able to motivate people to work towards agreed goals. You will need to understand the principles of Enablement and understand responsibility to safeguard adults and children. You must have good social skills and be able to work together with adults, their careers and families, and other professionals such as Community Nurses. Successful candidates will be part of a vibrant team, working closely with Hospital Social Work Teams, Occupational Therapists and Social Care Practitioners. Full training will be provided in line with the Care Certificate 2014. Wandsworth Council also provide ongoing training and support to further develop your skills, for example QCF level3 in Health and Social Care. We have various shifts available, across 7 days; with a requirement of weekend work - every other weekend. The shifts available are: 7am to 11am, 7am to 2.30pm, 4.30pm to 9.30pm and 5pm to 9.30pm.
