Overview
A leading London Market insurer has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Developer to join a growing and dynamic team and be responsible for providing system and database support for their business users. The successful candidate will be expected to work directly with the operations business unit to understand their business processes. By combining this process understanding with an understanding of systems development, the successful candidate with be expected to create innovative solutions that enhance the business. Duties and Responsibilities Designing and developing bespoke tools and reports in support of business processes Liaising with business users across all business units to thoroughly understand user requirements Demonstrating a continual focus on long term effectiveness, simplicity of solutions, and appropriate controls Investigating, evaluating and making recommendations for improvements to current and new software Effective documentation of relevant tools and reports in order to mitigate business risks Work with the IT team to ensure the technology environments are properly supported, fit for purpose, and kept up to date Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience University Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field Minimum of 3 years' experience in the Insurance/Reinsurance experience is essential. Must have a strong customer service mentality At least 5 years programming experience with desktop Microsoft .Net technologies is needed M ust have at least 5 years SQL Server Database Development experience; Experience with large datasets and data warehouse experience is a plus Must have demonstrated expertise of Microsoft SSRS; expertise in Microsoft PowerBI a plus Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment.
