Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Construction Solicitor to join an award winning law firm in their Leeds based team. This an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment. As a Construction Solicitor your role will involve a mixture of non-contentious and contentious work, however it will be predominantly non-contentious. You will be joining a busy office and you will work to the level that you show that you are capable of doing. They are looking for someone with a practical, commercial approach. Given that this is a busy team you really will get the opportunity to develop quickly but you must have a hard working approach. In this role some of your responsibilities will include drafting construction contracts, subcontracts, consultants appointments and other project documents, managing the progress of development and the completion of documents, drafting project specific reports on documentation for completion, dealing with numerous queries on live projects for and on behalf of a whole range of clients, negotiating and agreeing on final construction documents, including performance bonds for large projects, construction contracts, consultant appointments and collateral warranties. The successful candidate will have a strong team work ethic, a motivated disposition and a "can do" attitude. The ability to work well as part of a team as well as strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to relate well to people at all levels is also beneficial in this role. This is an excellent opportunity for recently qualified candidate to get their foot in the door, as our client is willing to look at a range of PQEs for this role. This role also allows room for the right candidate to be retrained, however, candidates who do not have experience in this sector will be from a non-contentious background.
