Overview

Our client are a forward thinking firm who act on behalf of some of the world's largest multinational corporations and private individuals in a number of different practice areas including construction, corporate and employment. The firm are in growth mode and having recently expanded to further develop the firms pre-existing service offering across the region they are looking to bring another person on board. Their construction team is Legal 500 rated and is split into two sub teams, contentious and non-contentious, although the majority of the matters that they deal with are litigated. They act on behalf of a very wide variety of clients which include developers, major corporations, contractors, local authorities and registered providers of social housing to name a few. They have been involved in some of the largest construction disputes within the social housing sector which have often attracted the attention of the national media. They want someone who is passionate about construction law and who has an ambition to succeed. The team all work really hard so someone who is prepared to get stuck in and go the extra mile to make their mark within a thriving department. As there aren't currently any other permanent construction litigators within their growing Leeds office you would work closely with lawyers in London, being fully supported and working particularly closely with their northern clients. Given this it's probably going to suit an ambitious lawyer who has a minimum of 3 years PQE and the ability to spot a real career opportunity. They are happy to talk through the support on offer at interview, but have assured us that there will be plenty It's an unusual opportunity for someone at the early to mid-level of their career really to spread their wings and have a clear career track ahead of them. Whilst there aren't any other construction lawyers permanently in the Leeds office, you would be surrounded by a really collegiate, high quality bunch of lawyers who will also be working with the clients that you are working with. The firm have a really strong base and a great reputation as a place to work, whilst profit is important for any firm it's not the sole focus for this firm, it's a modern and progressive firm but they have what may now be looked on as solid traditional values. It's these values that create a great working environment. Although they are seeing an influx in work already, their plans are only to grow further so candidates must have an enthusiasm for managing existing client relationships as well as helping to build new ones.
