Overview
Our client who supply Total Supply Management Services within the Automotive Industry are recruiting for an experienced Applications/Sales Engineer to join their thriving company. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the main duties of the role will be; Design/Product Development; · Aiding Customers Engineering departments with new product design · Recommend optimum product solution(s) per application · Provide technical literature including product and performance specifications, installation instructions etc Sales; · Identify, develop and c lose opportunities with the customer to provide organic sales growth · Offer after-sales support services · Prepare and deliver technical presentations Manufacturing/Engineering Support; · First response for problem resolution at the manufacturing site · Liaison between customer and ST quality, purchasing etc. General Engineering Support; · Organise, conduct, report and help implement cost saving projects, ideas and VA/VE events · Maintain accurate records regarding the evaluation and use of products and systems by customer · Assist with identifying and evaluating products that can be consolidated and/or standardised and quantifying savings · Assist in sample support (prototype, catalogue & standards) The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience; · Ideally qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology however demonstratable engineering/technical sales experience will be considered · 5 years working in a technical role within a B2B company and exposure to working directly with external customers · Computer Literate – Able to operate basic software applications – CAD experience (Solid Works) would be highly advantageous · Technical Knowledge in the following; o Principals and methods for selling products and services o Practical application of engineering science and technology o Design techniques, tools and principals involved in the production of precision drawings and parts o Raw materials, production processes, quality control & costs This role will be very Customer facing and 80% of time will be spent onsite at the Customer’s premises. This is a permanent position with an immediate start available and the salary will be in the region of £35k-£45k depending on experience.
