2020 looks to be another big year for DevOps. By 2023, experts expect the DevOps market to triple in size compared to 2018. This brings a lot of positives: Cutting edge technology, New certifications and Variety . However how many opportunities can offer all 3 to a competitive standard? This role working with an award winning digital consultancy can. The roles are part of an ongoing recruitment drive with a focus on building a strong DevOps team, but importantly a DevOps culture throughout the business. You will be tasked with working on client site with various members of the business to deliver digital solutions on an enterprise level. In terms of clients, you will work closely with public sector clients such as Ministry Of Defence, HMRC, Ministry of Justice and The Home Office. Cutting Edge Technology : My client prides themselves on being able to use cutting edge technology to deliver ground breaking solutions. To do so they look to use the right tool for the job. This could be working with cloud platforms in AWS and Azure whilst using Kubernetes and Terraform. As a consultant you will be given the appropriate training and upskilling to work effectively on client site. New Certifications: Within your first 6 months you will look to achieve 3 certifications: Kubernetes Administrator AWS/Azure Certified DevOps Engineer AWS/Azure Certified Developer Variety: No one wants to be stuck on the same support work for months on end. That's why as a consultant, no two days will be the same. However there are a few responsibilities that will remain consistent. Working on: CI/CD pipelines, Cloud Architecture, Containers, Automation and Configuration Management. But enough about the company and the role. The two fundamental concepts of DevOps are continuous Integration and continuous delivery. Therefore my client has highlighted the following skills to facilitate CI/CD. Containerisation - Experience with Docker is essential, whether that be homelab or commercial. Experience with Docker Swarm/Kubernetes is a plus but not essential. Cloud - AWS/Azure Configuration Management Tools - Experience using at least one of the following: Puppet, Chef, Terraform, Ansible In return, you will benefit from a highly networked and very flat structured organisation. In terms of package, my client can offer a competitive salary (between £35,000 - £40,000) alongside a non-contributory pension (6%), private health care and 1 Day remote work.
