Snr Commissioning Engineer TYPE: permanent (days) SALARY: £40,000 - £45.000 pa LOCATION: Cardiff, Wales Our client, one of well-known brands in the world of liquid food & drink packaging serving a wide range of household brands is looking for a Snr Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer. The role is predominantly site based looking after liquid carton filling lines but there will be opportunities to travel across UK, Ireland and Europe on an overtime basis to assist with planned maintenance activities on other sites. The role may develop to field based across UK & Ireland. In the first 6 months or so whilst the packaging lines are being built, there will be training on other sites across UK, Ireland, and Europe and in the company manufacturing/ test centres in Europe. This will require some extended stays away from home whilst in the training period. When the lines are being installed the engineer will be part of the project team and be involved in installation, set up and commissioning. Key Accountabilities: Carry out planned preventative maintenance with other Site engineers Liaising & assisting site departments by participating and contributing in meetings. Day to day machinery fault diagnosis and repairs Developing SOPs and learning documents to share best practice across customer shifts with respect to maintenance and operation of the packaging line. Work with the site Plant Optimisation tools to ensure sustainability of high departmental standards including 5S, Hygiene and PDCA cycle Review and develop safety and maintenance procedures Record all maintenance activities within maintenance management system (CRM) Ideal Skills and Experience Proactive & self-managed engineer with a professional and a 'can do' attitude PDCA cycle Good understanding of LEAN, Continuous Improvements, HACCP, Food Safety protocols. Comply with health, safety, hygiene and 5S standards policies and practices at all times to ensure standards are maintained Proven fault finding and maintenance of high-speed production/ filling/ packaging equipment within a FMCG environment.
