Senior Stress Engineers CONTRACT Job Description Senior Stress Engineers - CONTRACT Broughton, Nr Chester Pay Details: INSIDE IR35 £42 UMBRELLA £35.65 PAYE Job Description: The Senior Stress Engineers will be part of a multi discipline Engineering and Design team within the Airborne ISR organisation of Raytheon Systems Limited. They will report to the Lead Stress Engineer. They will be responsible for: Providing Stress analysis for modification proposals for Aircraft structural and mechanical modifications and enhancements. Progressing structural and mechanical design modifications in accordance with regulatory requirements, providing signature approval of all pertinent design documentation. Analysis of structural and mechanical flight systems design issues, determination of actions and solutions, working in accordance with the in service support task database management tools. Liaison with other departments and OEM's re damage/defect investigations and corrective actions. Ensuring that all engineering activities undertaken under their control are conducted in accordance with RSL site procedures that reflects best practice, and is in accordance with RSL and external authority (Civil and Military) requirements. Support to formal customer reviews, including the Structural Integrity Working Group's, Local Technical Committee's and Configuration Control Boards. Required Skills: Proven experience in Stress Analysis (including Static and Fatigue) on Civil/Military Aircraft programmes. Detailed knowledge and experience of hand calculation methods . Experience in Finite Element Analysis, preferably Nastran/Patran. Design/Engineering experience in practical Aircraft environment. Damage Assessment and the provision of repairs. A proactive team-player who can motivate and support their peers. Proven engineering capability and someone who can anticipate problems and plan to mitigate them. An able communicator in verbal, written and presentational forms. A logical problem solver who can operate effectively under stretching project constraints. Able to manage and work within agreed timescales and task budgets. Candidate Requirements: Essential: Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant engineering discipline. Experience of dealing with UK MoD and other UK and foreign government departments. A strong Aerospace and Defence background. An in-depth understanding of the full lifecycle of development programmes for the UK MoD and the MoD customer acquisition processes. Knowledge of the MoD Aircraft Platform system operational, ISTAR Operational and Procurement Domains. Delivery of complex programmes to UK MoD and international customers. Ability to help shape and produce winning bids into the target customer community. Strong interpersonal skills, team motivator, able to build strong relationships with customers and peers. Able to drive and motivate multidiscipline teams. Excellent Communication skills - written and verbal at all levels within the organisation to Board level and with the customer. Capable of managing and motivating a diverse team in the delivery of innovative solutions. Desirable: Member of a relevant Engineering Professional Institution.
