PRODUCTION OPERATOR Job brief We are looking for a machine operator to join our Production team to take the business forward. Established for over 35 years, Spice Packaging Solutions has been one of the foremost industrial and postal paperboard tube manufacturers in the UK. Today the focus is on the development of new products to enable the business to expand into selected target markets, all of which require new skills and capital investment. Working within an established paperboard tube winding facility you will be involved in running machines that manufacture products ranging from industrial tubes to composite cans. To ensure our customer orders are met, duties will include: Operating labelling and finishing machines Completing production paperwork Packing cardboard tubes onto pallets and/or into corrugated cases Handwork including plugging, seaming, recutting, etc. Daily & weekly maintenance of machines Ensuring good housekeeping around workstation and factory Experience in tube winding or composite can manufacture a considerable advantage, however not essential. Requirements Experience of operating machines within a medium to large factory environment Good numeracy, reading and written skills Strong commitment to quality, cleanliness and health & safety Reliable and good timekeeping Forklift license preferable but not essential Full car license Wages & Benefits Wages: £8.72 per hour minimum negotiable depending on ability and experience Annual leave: 20 days plus bank holidays Hours: 06:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday typically, although flexibility is required as and when necessary
