Services Officer Location: London, SE1 Salary: £26,000 per annum Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm About the organisation: Our client provides expert advice and support directly to those affected by pancreatic cancer, and they support the pancreatic cancer community with a strong, constructive voice. They want to make sure that everyone affected by the disease gets all the help they need, and their overall aim is to double survival rates and transform the future for everyone with pancreatic cancer. But they can’t do this alone - they can only succeed if they take it on together. You could be a key part of our client's success. This is a great role and a very exciting time to be joining the charity as we enter into the development of our new five year strategy. They are an ambitious charity working with one of the toughest cancers. Services Officer Responsibilities: Respond to requests for publications from patients and families, packaging materials and posting them. Maintain sufficient stock of publications in the office. Work with our fulfilment house to ensure requests for publications from health professionals are sent out, monitoring stock at the fulfilment house, and resolving any issues. Manage the organisation of our Living with Pancreatic Cancer Support Days, liaising with Regional and Support Line nurses to ensure smooth running of events and updating and maintaining Trello board, website and forum. Undertake event administration including booking venues and catering, producing event materials and organising delivery and collection. Lead on the promotion of days, ensuring promotional materials are printed and circulated. Work with media / digital teams to advertise days through social media and press. Manage and monitor registrations and send pre-event information to attendees. Provide post event administration; adding relevant data to Raiser’s Edge (RE), ensuring GDPR compliance and compiling evaluation report Manage Services Volunteer ensuring they have appropriate and well planned tasks to undertake on a weekly basis and providing supervision and support. Services Officer Requirements: Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience in a support role within the charity sector Knowledge, understanding and experience Previous experience of working for a charity (Desirable) Experience of events administration Experience of providing administrative support to a large team Working knowledge of Raisers Edge Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work and plan ahead Competent user of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and use of Excel to present and analyse data Ability to focus on a task with excellent attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write copy for website and health professional mailings Ability to analyse statistical data to identify gaps, trends make recommendations Commitment to health and safety, data protection, equality and diversity and safeguarding compliance and best practice Interest in making improvements in processes and efficiency Commitment to Pancreatic Cancer UK’s vision, mission and values: Determined, Compassionate, Pioneering and Integrity, and to Learning and Development Understanding and acceptance of Pancreatic Cancer UK’s policy on the use of animals in research which is in accordance with the AMRC Services Officer Benefits: 25 days per year, plus bank holidays (the holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March) Eligible employees will be automatically enrolled into our Royal London pension scheme on their start date.
