Overview
As a Senior Policy and Engagement Officer you will be responsible for supporting the Strategy, Partnerships and Insight Manager, and the council’s services in the development and review of strategic and corporate policies and the associated strategies. You’ll develop and review the council’s policy and strategy framework, and the consultation and engagement policy and strategy. You will have a responsibility to undertake key research activity to inform the council’s corporate plan and associated strategic and corporate policies; this will include undertaking and assisting services to complete appropriate consultation and engagement activity. You will need extensive practical experience of undertaking research and policy and strategy development, along with a strong background in consultation and stakeholder engagement. Sound knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects is key, and you should have a track record in team working and team leadership, working across departmental services.
