As a quality operator it is essential that the Quality & Compliance Inspector recognises and accepts that this means always acting in a sensitive and professional manner for the best interest of the organisation and its Service Users. Overall Purpose The Quality & Compliance Inspector is responsible for promoting the continuous improvement of quality and service delivery to meet and exceed outcomes for individual care usersThey provide expert support, identify opportunities, potential quality related risks and advise on appropriate actions. Principal Duties Promoting QualityEducate and promote Quality Assurance best practice Promote and influence quality related improvements, share experiences, learning and best practice at management and quality assurance meetings Cascade national and regional quality initiatives in simple and practical ways that are easily understood by all staff Evaluate and review internal and external quality standards, in the pursuit of determining and establishing continuous improvementParticipate in reviewing and/or formulation of documentation, policies and procedures to improve MMCG’s Quality Management System in line with regulatory standardsContribute towards development of QA team objectives and company initiativesActively highlight key performance indicators from the Annual Quality Reports and promote ideas for future improvement Managing Quality Provide expert advice to MMCG staff on Quality Assurance issues, complaints, policies and proceduresMonitor compliance in all homes in the area at least once a month Complete a regulatory report for each home on a monthly basis Develop a plan of action with the Care Home Manager to meet and exceed quality standardsReview and monitor outcomes against the plan with the Care Home ManagerProvide support, direction and motivation to MMCG care staff to encourage continuous improvement of quality standards Escalate urgent, unresolved issues and potential risks to the appropriate Regional Director and Operational ManagementActively contribute to embed audit and evaluation into services and support a learning and continual development culture To work within the company's Information Governance policies in order maintain security of personal and sensitive dataUnderstand the importance of correct record management and own personal responsibilities in maintaining this through passwords, storage of documentation, and sharing information ( both paper based or on electronic systems)Report breeches of records security to line manager or the Caldicott GuardianTo be proactive in information management including identifying errors and omission in records and personal data, informing relevant persons promptly to reduce risk of harm or inappropriate care and treatment, and responding to external recommendations to improve data quality.To monitor errors and omissions logs and ensure remedial activity To monitor and advise on meeting recommendations by external agencies on data quality Leadership To support staff to deliver MMCG’s mission “To be the best quality, most highly regarded care provider in the United Kingdom”Keep own knowledge and skills updated, including research, changes in legislation, regulation and practice standards to provide expert information and guidanceBuild, manage and maintain key internal and external business relationships to deliver the highest standards of qualitySupport the operational team to investigate and respond to quality related complaints in line with the regulatory body and local authority standards and requirements Represent the company at safeguarding hearings Contribute to a culture of corporate social responsibility in all aspects related to quality, environment and Health and Safety Demonstrate the qualities of an ‘Expert’ through awareness and understanding of the implications of change in requirements and practise Service Excellence Provide excellent standards of communication, support and guidance to Care Home Manager’s and their teamsEnsure the residents are at the heart of quality decisions Person Specification: Professional The post holder should hold a nursing qualification or NVQ5 in Leadership and Management for care related services, in addition to a commitment to ongoing development Experience The post holder will have a proven track record of managing in a clinical or healthcare setting within the last 3 years. General A full, valid driving licence is essential.Effective leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational, report writing, communication and presentation skillsThe ability to recognise own limitations.
