Overview

We are seeking Shift Managers to run the day to day operations within our Aircraft Appearance Team at Manchester Airport. The role will be responsible for quality and performance, client liaison, management of staff and ensuring the service is on time and in line with the standards required. You will bring with you experience in managing service delivery and delivery through teams of people by regularly reviewing current practices and identifying areas for improvement with positive constructive solutions that are clearly communicated to the Operations Managers. This role will require a Manager who is innovative and proactive; good at problem solving and developing new ideas that will enhance the company profile in the eyes of existing and potential clients and travelling public. Responsibilities will include: Managing staff and equipment to meet customer's requirements consistently within agreed timescales Ensuring we meet quality standards, by motivating and managing the staff on shift in order to deliver a high-quality service to customers and maximise professionalism throughout the operational team Building staff morale and projecting a positive and professional image of the Aircraft Appearance team to staff and customers alike Managing staff with a firm but fair style that leads from the front and values staff contribution Identifying best performing staff and give recognition to those staff involved, using them as an example to others Taking remedial action if any gaps in the performance of direct reports are identified by providing guidance and mentoring or if necessary, instigating an investigation/disciplinary process Ensuring compliance of KPIs as directed by the General Manager or Operations Managers Identifying training and development needs of staff and carrying out necessary training and development or if necessary, discussing with Senior Management and requesting assistance from the training department Providing regular inspections relating to service delivery with a full awareness of the customer's perceptions and sensitivities Liaising regularly with customers, reporting on service delivery, resolving problems and developing additional services Being pro-active in terms of resolving problems and developing new ideas or approaches to service delivery that will both enhance the product and the company profile in the eyes of the customer and the travelling public Liaising positively, proactively and professionally with representatives of our customer airlines, the airport authority and other regulatory bodies Maintaining and enforcing health and safety regulations, uniform standards and vehicle/equipment cleanliness Experience required: Working experience/Personal attributes Previous people management experience from a dynamic/changing environment, preferably within an airport/airline or fast paced cleaning service industry Strong and clear communication skills Customer care experience at a middle management level Passion for continuous improvement and attention to detail Proactive and effective problem solving Ability to work under pressure High degree of self-motivation and determination to succeed Why join OCS Group UK Ltd?
