Financial Accountant - Milton Keynes - £40,000-£45,000 Are you a technically strong Financial Accountant or Auditor looking for a core accounting role? Perhaps you enjoy the technical aspects of your role but feel as though you are missing out on the opportunity to really see things through with that one business you enjoy working with. You might have long-term ambitions to manage a team without the possibility to progress in your current business. This Financial Accountant role will provide a newly-qualified accountant with a technical accounting or audit background with a smooth transition into industry whilst giving you plenty of new areas of finance to get your teeth stuck into. You will utilise your knowledge of accounting standards to implement effective financial controls and your financial compliance/audit knowledge will allow you to make sure that the business is compliant with financial reporting obligations externally. Financial Accountant - Key Duties: Prepare statutory financial statements for the Group in line with IFRS accounting standards Improve the quality of monthly financial reporting provided to senior management Manage balance sheet reconciliations and implementation of new accounting standards Work closely with internal and external audit functions to oversee year-end Provide analysis and insight into financial performance to the wider group Implement robust controls around VAT and corporation tax reporting. This is a business which likes to give people the chance to rotate and progress around different functions. You'll be coming into a Financial Accounting role so realistically there will be limited commercial exposure initially, but people have in the past moved from the financial reporting team into Finance Business Partner or Commercially-focused roles. If you're looking to move into a business that not just offers progression but can demonstrate it then this would be one for you. You will be ACCA or ACA qualified (or approaching final stages). The role would be well suited to a practice trained accountant but also a great move for anyone already working in industry with an excellent technical accounting and controls background.
