Overview

The credit controller role will contribute to the smooth functioning of the team by ensuring prompt collection of cash and maintaining the accuracy of sales ledger records. Main duties will include: - Chasing payment of overdue accounts via phone, email and letter - Reducing debt in accordance with pre-agreed targets - Dealing with internal and external queries to ensure smooth and timely resolution - Completing daily banking (BACS & Cheques) to include identification, posting and allocation - Taking and processing credit card payments - Assessing and updating credit history of existing and new customers using online credit agency services - Opening and setting up new accounts - Maintaining and updating customer details to ensure ledger accuracy - Reconciliation of accounts where payments have been mis-posted - To take ownership of ledger, ensuring that any issues are escalated appropriately - Reviewing ledger regularly with manager to highlight any problems and agree targets and actions moving forward Person / Experience Required - Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and outlook - Excellent and confident verbal and written communication - Previous experience working in sales ledger/ credit control environment - Excellent attention to detail - Ability to prioritise and manage own workload 12-14 Month contract (maternity leave cover) Full time Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm Fridays 8.30am - 4.30pm 26 days holiday bank holidays Please note: As you can appreciate we are currently overwhelmed with applications of individuals looking for both short term and permanent work and we can therefore only contact those applications that have relevant skills for positions that we currently have available.
