Senior Systems Engineer – Radar, Electronic Warfare, Surveillance Systems, Air Traffic Control Systems, Networking and Communications Our client is a highly successful global aerospace company. The role is a technical authority providing knowledge to projects and bids and actively contribute to the development of the technology and associated engineering processes. They also provide coaching / mentor guidance to others. May also provide the team leading and management of projects and bids. Travel to customer sites is required. This is a broad based system engineering role, through life experience, from the requirements stage right through to production Experience – Senior Systems Engineer: Experience of working within a Systems Engineering environment and/or team through full lifecycle Domain knowledge, with experience in the application of systems engineering to the entire product life cycle from inception to delivery Proven track record and technical experience in systems such as radar, electronic warfare, surveillance and communications systems Experience of regulatory requirements and procedures related to air traffic management and airborne systems is desirable Knowledge and experience of Engineering Design Reviews Proven ability to work and deliver, to time pressure and deadlines Proven technical leadership role on projects to drive the engineered solution through lifecycle Demonstrated performance in team building, fostering organisational culture and delivering continuous improvement Familiar with configuration management techniques and associated standards Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to converse confidently at all levels of the organisation Key Responsibilities – Senior Systems Engineer The safety, quality and design compliance of all activities Contribute to definition/development of Systems Engineering technical strategy Contribute to and lead customer meetings where appropriate Coaching/Mentoring – help develop staff competency by sharing abilities/knowledge/skills in order to meet business requirements Maintain, grow and promote relevant technical skills and domain knowledge Contribute to bids and estimating – increase the chance of successful bid by providing appropriate/quality input to the satisfaction of the Bid Manager and other stakeholders Fulfil tasks to agreed time, budget and quality Act as technical lead and design authority for nominated projects through the entire lifecycle Carry out requirements engineering/management and engineering design methods as required Development and maintenance of key system engineering documents including system and sub system requirements, configuration and other technical documentation including manuals and training material Understanding and reviewing systems, hardware, software, test and integration documentation to confirm that the hardware, software and architecture design are compliant Recognising the need for and proposing process and product improvements to ensure best practice and compliance with relevant standards (including safety) Travel within the UK and overseas to support business needs as necessary Keywords : Systems Engineering, Avionics, Requirements Management, Radar, Electronic Warfare, Air Traffic Control, Communication Systems Senior Systems Engineer – Radar, Electronic Warfare, Surveillance Systems, Air Traffic Control Systems, Networking and Communications Salary: Competitive with large company benefits Location: Christchurch, Dorset This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89691743
