Senior Systems Engineer – Requirements Electronic Warfare, Radar, Airborne Systems, Air Traffic Control Communication - Defence Systems Our client is a large high successful global aerospace company. They are recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer who will be required to support a development engineering work package focussed initially at the requirements phase of the V-Model lifecycle. Reporting into the Systems Engineering Team Lead, you will drive the requirements gathering within project definition focussed on key hardware and software integration. As a Senior Systems Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include: Experience managing requirements phase of V-Model lifecycle is essential, with through life additional experience highly desirable. Use and working knowledge of the DOORS requirements management tool Good technical knowledge of one or more of the following: air traffic control systems technology, airborne radar, electronic warfare, surveillance, and networking and communications systems and associated technologies. Electronic engineering new product development in the context of an aerospace platform would be highly desirable. Experience of regulatory requirements and procedures related to air traffic management and airborne systems is desirable Knowledge and experience of Engineering Design Reviews Proven ability to work and deliver, to time pressure and deadlines Proven technical leadership role on projects to drive the engineered solution through lifecycle Demonstrated performance in team building, fostering organisational culture and delivering continuous improvement Familiar with configuration management techniques and associated standards As a Senior Systems Engineer your main responsibilities will involve: The safety, quality and design compliance of all activities Contribute to definition/development of Systems Engineering technical strategy Contribute to and lead customer meetings where appropriate Coaching/Mentoring – help develop staff competency by sharing abilities/knowledge/skills in order to meet business requirements Maintain, grow and promote relevant technical skills and domain knowledge Team leading – facilitate maximizing the performance of the team through motivation, conflict mgmt., good communication Contribute to bids and estimating – increase the chance of successful bid by providing appropriate/quality input to the satisfaction of the Bid Manager and other stakeholders Fulfil tasks to agreed time, budget and quality Act as technical lead and design authority for nominated projects through the entire lifecycle Carry out requirements engineering/management and engineering design methods as required Development and maintenance of key system engineering documents including system and sub system requirements, configuration and other technical documentation including manuals and training material Understanding and reviewing systems, hardware, software, test and integration documentation to confirm that the hardware, software and architecture design are compliant Recognising the need for and proposing process and product improvements to ensure best practice and compliance with relevant standards (including safety) Travel (minimal) within the UK and overseas to support business needs as necessary Keywords : Electronic Warfare, Radar, Airborne Systems, Air Traffic Control Communication - Defence Systems, DOORS, Requirements Management, Systems Engineering Senior Systems Engineer – Requirements Salary: Competitive plus excellent benefits Location: Christchurch, Dorset This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89691704
