Senior Software Development Engineer in Test Financial Services Brighton £50,000 - £67,000 a year Permanent A reputable financial organisation based in Brighton are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join their organisation and act as a Test Automation SME. You will contribute to ensure the Agile teams can efficiently produce automated tests within a DevOps, Continuous Testing environment. This role will require you to be a mentor to both junior and senior team members, working closely with the Head of QA, Head of Transformation and Test Architect to ensure that the automation stack is robust, reliable and updates or additions to the code stack are completed on time. You will work with business and development teams as well as the rest of the QA team to ensure that the user stories have well-defined acceptance criteria in BDD format for the test team to automate. You will contribute code and help maintain test automation stacks. Create, maintain and have full responsibility for the test automation stack for a product/application Work with Business, Dev and QA to ensure that we have user stories with good, robust Acceptance Criteria Manage distributed code repository, ensuring that tests are current, and updates are done as per peer reviews, SCA and SAST runs Ensure that standards and agreed processes are adhered to, and all the test artefacts align to the overall test automation strategy and architecture as well as audit requirements Communicate in a considerate and actionable way to help the team improve their products. Managing any conflict that arise Leading and providing effective communication to your team, the Head of QA and other stakeholders to ensure effective decision making and integration Provide professional guidance, plan, collaborate & coordinate with development and coaching to Junior & Partner Test Automation Engineers, and enable meeting business objectives consistently Skills Required An expert understanding of software testing, why it's important, and how it fits into the SDLC is essential Software quality and processes improvement Test automation techniques An understanding of the different drivers and needs of customers, distributors and partners A wider interest in technology and how it can be used Java test automation experience, or in other coding languages such as C#, C++, Python, Ruby and NodeJs Experience within an Agile development environment and practical experience with BDD and TDD Strong experience in Process Improvement Able to demonstrate supportive, communicative and collaborative approach to working in a team DevOps/CI CSS Selenium Cucumber BDD Artillery or similar tools for testing API's GitHub Jenkins The client are offering a competitive salary of up to £67k and offer great benefits such as, 27 days holiday, excellent pension scheme and a bonus.
