Public Sector Internal Audit Assistant Manager – Top 10 Firm - Birmingham Description: Due to winning new contracts, a top tier International accountancy practice is expanding their Public Sector Internal Audit Team in the Midlands. They are looking to recruit an experienced Internal Auditor with Public Sector experience, or someone with experience of auditing large/complex organisations with a desire to work in the public sector. Joining a large and thriving department with ambitious growth plans, you will play a part in safeguarding public money and making sure that vital public services are properly accountable to taxpayers. Working across a range of public bodies including local authorities and the NHS, you will be responsible for: Leading onsite work for a client portfolio and building strong working relationships with colleagues and clients Coordinating all aspects of audit planning including scheduling and attending client meetings, internal review requirements and production of planning documents Reviewing the work of audit team members - motivating and coaching team members, providing regular constructive feedback Carrying out the higher risk and more complex assignments Adhering to the firms risk management policies and procedures, including familiarity with public sector internal audit standards and advising junior staff on the application of procedures Benefits: You will be joining a firm that offers a fantastic culture which promotes inclusion of employee ideas, personal development and progression.
