Overview

Job; Senior Engineer – London W1 This company is a long-standing, successful London-based investment manager with offices in London and California. They manage around $1.5 billion of assets across hedge funds and private debt funds. This role will be to lead the build of a greenfield, best of breed loan management system for internal use and future white-labeling opportunities. Duties: Influence the technical strategy of their product to ensure their company’s road-map is implemented in a maintainable, adaptable and lean way. Work with internal stakeholders (e.g. business, security, compliance) and a third-party development partner to ensure that their system meets business needs. Assist with their product road map by scoping and prioritising development efforts in line with company objectives. Work with their operations team to ensure that their loan system is run as a production quality service, collaborating with internal and partner teams to resolve bugs and improve their loan management system. General requirements: Ability to grow and maintain a software product by understanding their company’s vision and goals while simultaneously focusing on and delivering detailed requirements Experience running and overseeing a technical team day-to-day Strong communication skills with an ability to speak to all members of their company (from their technology team to users of their product to their Head of IT and CEO) Required knowledge: Domain knowledge and experience working in finance Experience at a lender / finance provider is highly desirable, with an exposure to bridge lending being a distinct advantage Required skills: Ability to build web apps and REST APIs using the ASP.NET MVC framework Knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack including IIS Server, Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Knowledge of Python with recent production experience in financial algorithms Knowledge of the React JavaScript UI library Knowledge of building servers using Typescript, NodeJS and the Express framework Required experience: Debugging and promptly fixing issues in a production environment Familiarity with security best practices and ability to adjust development processes and system behaviour to adhere to domain-specific security regulations Taking ownership and driving product vision, working in partnership with other business stakeholders Other Stuff; £’s; fully DoE approx. £80k (fully neg.), Benefits; discretionary bonus, pension, health, dental, life assurance, income protection, season ticket loan, training and more, Location; London W1, How to get to them; a short walk from Piccadilly Circus tube station, Interested?
